SAP Fiori Elements rethought to simplify reporting

Discovery Inc., long-time SAP customers, is well aware of the feature set of ALV, which has been a staple of ABAP based reporting for more than 20 years. However, bringing these reports into modern web applications with Fiori presents considerable challenges.
SAP’s suggested approach, Fiori Elements, is able to deliver the expected features of traditional ALV in a Fiori package, but development using this approach is highly complex and relies on new technology such as Hana CDS views and annotated oData services, which are unfamiliar to the vast majority of ABAP developers.
